The Whisky Sauce Company aims to enliven everyone’s food with a very Scottish range of sauces.
The Whisky Sauce Company is a new Company which commenced production it’s
range of sauces at the beginning of November 2013. The products are based upon an
idea first introduced by our Ken our Master Blender We thought his ideas so good
…and tasty… that we have launched his whole range of sauces….and who knows
there may be more to come yet, just need time …and a wee dram!
From our production unit in rural Perthshire we buy in casks of Highland and
Speyside Malt whisky and blend this whisky with a range of spices and other
ingredients. We stay with these regional Malts to avoid any alteration of the current
flavour as West coast and Islay malts tend to have smokier, peatier flavours and
might (though it might still be something we will do )alter the current flavour.
Ken is very secretive about his recipes and some say his dry acerbic wit comes from
too many hours spent stirring large vats of whisky sauce.
Our Sauces made the ideal foundation for mayonnaise based dips as well as satay
dips. Additionally a chicken breast done in foil in the oven is a great match for the
Whisky sauce added to crème fraiche and poured over. Even simple cheese on toast
can be enlivened with whisky sauce to produce a Gaelic Rarebit.
