We're just one more sleep now from one of the most incredible festivities in the Scottish Calendar - Hogmanay! Whilst New Year across most of the globe is a time for laid back meet and greets, blink-and-you'll-miss-em countdowns and (well intentioned) resolutions, up in the North the last day of December is a holiday king with lots of warm traditions - quite literally in the case of torchlight processions - that are constantly outdoing the previous year's programme. If you're unfamiliar with Hogmanay, its origins or how its celebrated, you can read our Guide to Hogmanay blog post to get a fuller picture.
Whilst the holiday's origins in the Winter Solstice make it a solid time to start afresh and clear out old vestiges, for Fine Scottish Hampers it feels as if we're just getting started! Since we started trading in September we've sent out hundreds of hampers and orders for individual items of Scottish food & drink, and this Christmas we almost went through our entire supply of festive themed treats and decorated delectables, with the post-feast positive feedback already coming!
Even if you missed out on giving and sharing in a fantastically packed Scottish hamper this Christmas, our special holiday collection will still be around to order throughout the festive period. Whether someone you know has a birthday that falls right in the middle of January, or if you feel like having a belated Chirstmas/New Year celebration, there's plenty of locally produced Scottish food and drink to tuck into.
