It’s summer time, and as we start to wave goodbye to Wimbledon and all of the Pimms filled picnics, its time to find another cocktail to excite our taste buds.
With such a wealth of choice around, it can be difficult to find a summer cocktail that really freshens the palette, whilst still tasting delicious. We think we have found the answer.
Scotland is becoming more and more famous for its amazing selection of gins, which provides an elegant summery taste, more so than whisky. With famous brands such as Edinburgh Gin and Rock Rose taking centre stage, we have found some incredible cocktail recipes that will make your summer sing.
Add a twist to your Gin and Tonic by adding a squeeze of grapefruit juice and a sprig of rosemary. The rosemary adds and wonderful earthy tone that will compliment any sunny day.
Serves 1
1 part Rock Rose Gin
2 parts Indian Tonic Water
1 Grapefruit wedge
1 sprig of Rosemary
Ice
Add the Gin and Tonic Water and stir with ice. Add a squeeze of grapefruit juice from a wedge and add the wedge to the glass. Garnish with rosemary.
For those who like something a little sweeter, this fruity cocktail uses raspberries for a moreish edge.
Serves 1
1 part Raspberry Infused Edinburgh Gin
2 parts lemonade
Raspberries
Ice
Gently stir the raspberry gin and lemonade together add the ice and garnish with raspberries. The raspberries also make a delicious treat to munch at the end.
The scent of summer, this elegant beverage is perfect to serve up any any garden party of fancy soiree.
Serves 1
1 part Elderflower Infused Edinburgh Gin
2 parts Sparkling Water
1/2 Passion fruit
Ice
Scoop out the passion fruit seeds and add to a cocktail shaker with the ice and gin. Shake for a few seconds and then pour into a glass. Top up with sparkling water and enjoy.
